INPAS Arrives: A New Era in Non-Profit Accounting

The launch of the International Non-Profit Accounting Standard (INPAS) marks a historic step toward redefining how non-profits around the world demonstrate accountability and credibility, both improving quality and reducing burden.

Join us alongside funders, NGOs, non-profits, accounting experts, and civil society leaders on 21 October in Geneva to celebrate the INPAS launch and explore what comes next.

Registration deadline: 12 October 2025.

For the first time, the global non-profit sector has a unified framework for financial reporting. Designed by the sector, for the sector, INPAS responds to a long-standing need by helping non-profits tell a clearer financial story, reducing duplication in donor reporting, and building trust across the sector.

Whether you’re a funder navigating complex reporting demands or a non-profit ready to streamline how you report to stakeholders, INPAS Arrives: A New Era in Non-Profit Accounting will connect you to a global movement for better financial accountability.

We understand travel to Geneva is not practical for many of our global stakeholders. We hosted a virtual event on 9 October with two different sessions to celebrate the launch of INPAS. View the recording here.

What can you expect at the event?

  • The official launch of INPAS and its new governing body
  • A keynote address from Adda Faye, CFO of The Global Fund
  • A donor-focused panel exploring the future of reporting expectations
  • Interactive breakouts on INPAS adoption, fund accounting, and case studies

  • Unlocking the Power of Fund Accounting in INPAS: explaining & building reserves

Fund accounting is one of the most powerful innovations in the new INPAS standard. It equips non-profits to clearly show how they generate and steward unrestricted reserves—crucial for financial resilience—and connects seamlessly to the harmonised grant report in INPAS Guide 1. Don’t miss this opportunity to unpack how it works, what it enables, and why it’s a game-changer for the sector.

  • Country Case Studies: INPAS relevance around the world

Hear from Country Champions and key stakeholders in countries around the world, including a case study from Ethiopia and reflections from Argentina, Ghana & UK. What’s the lived experience for NPOs operating without a standard? What’s the demand? What adoption plans are in place?

  • INPAS Adoption pathways: avoiding weaponisation

What could the INPAS adoption journey look like for a country, a donor or an NPO? What steps are needed, what are some possible timelines, what might the costs be? In some situations, regulation could be misused against civil society. What risks have been considered and how might they be mitigated?

  • From Inefficiency to Integration: Rethinking the Audit Burden for NPOs

Multiple audits are a common frustration for NGOs—costly, repetitive, and time-consuming. NPOs often face overlapping audits for grants and statutory requirements, with similar questions and system checks. Could a harmonised grant report annex offer a pathway toward a single audit? This session explores the potential benefits, risks, and practical considerations.

Enjoy coffee and tea and network with your fellow attendees.
